how much caffeine is in lov maté?

This is one of the most commonly asked questions about Lov Maté. It makes sense as the reason most people are looking for an energy alternative is because of the side effects they are experiencing from the caffeine found in coffee. Here is what you need to know.

If you cannot consume any caffeine, unfortunately Lov Maté is not for you. However, if you are looking to lower your caffeine intake or find relief from the side effects of coffee Lov Maté might just be the perfect solution.

Lov Maté contains approx 30-40 mg of caffeine per serving. For context, I'll share the caffeine content in some other beverages below.

Coffee -1 cup of brewed coffee contains about 95 mg of caffeine

Instant coffee - 1 cup contains about 60 mg of caffeine

Espresso - 1 shot or 1.5 ounces contains about 65 mg of caffeine

Tea - 1 cup of black tea contains about 47 mg of caffeine

Green Tea - contains about 28 mg

Chocolate (cacao) - 1 Cup of Cacao contains about 15mg of caffeine

The caffeine in Lov Maté is naturally occurring in the Yerba Maté and Guarana, as there is only a small amount of Guarna in the recipe - most of the energy you feel will be from the Yerba Maté.

Along with Caffeine, Yerba Maté also contains stimulants Theobromine (commonly known as the stimulant in chocolate that makes us feel good) and Theophylline (a stimulant found in black tea)

It seems to be the combination of these three stimulants that make the energy boost you get from Yerba Maté vastly different than coffee. It's longer-lasting energy without the jittery feeling, and some even describe it as euphoric (thanks Theophylline).

If you are very sensitive to caffeine, I would suggest starting with half a serving, and seeing how that feels before increasing to a full serve.

Any questions, I'm always happy to chat.

    Much Lov,
